Step Back to Move Forward

step back to move forward

‘To succeed, you must have tremendous perseverance, tremendous will. “I will drink the ocean,” says the persevering soul; “at my will mountains will crumble up.” Have that sort of energy, that sort of will; work hard, and you will reach the goal.’

Swami Vivekananda

Being persistent doesn’t mean you can’t pause and take a step back from what you are doing.  It’s easy to lose sight of what you originally wanted to achieve when you are so close to your passion every day.  Continually learning your craft is also extremely important, no matter what industry you work in.

For the past six months, that’s what I’ve been doing with Dream Plan Achieve.  I’ve not brought out any new products, written any blog posts or taken on any new clients, but I have still been working on the business in the background.  I took a step back and evaluated what I wanted to achieve with my business.  I went back to basics and re-wrote my business plan, got to know my ideal client better and made a plan to move forward.  I also did a lot of learning.  I took online courses, taught myself some new skills and was inspired by so many passionate, like-minded people.

The result of all this soul-searching, research and planning is a new, more focussed business plan for Dream Plan Achieve.  I have that fire-in-the-belly feeling for my business again.

Sometimes, taking a step back from your passion is important to enable you to move forward.  Pausing to re-charge is not quitting, it’s being smart.

Keep an eye out for some exciting changes here at Dream Plan Achieve over the next twelve months!
