There’s nothing more demorolising than looking at your to-do list at the end of the day and seeing tons of boxes yet to be ticked. You know those things are probably never going to get done, but you transfer them to the next day and your list just keeps growing longer.
The solution is to simplify your to-do list. If you give yourself 30 things to do, the likelihood is that none of them will get done. Your list will be too intimidating and you will console yourself with a bit of procrastination & avoidance tactics. The washing needs putting out… The skirting boards simply must be scrubbed today… Ooooh Twitter… And so on.
We all do it! But there’s a better way. A more productive way.
If you set yourself just 3 goals per day, your to-do list will be more inviting. You will have a clear outline of what you need to accomplish and the added bonus is that you will have the satisfaction of seeing all 3 of those boxes ticked at the end of the day. You will also be able to focus more on the task at hand, because you don’t have 29 other things all jostling for your attention.
Now, you might think ‘But Jen, how am I going to get through everything by only doing 3 things a day?’ Well, 3 things a day is better than 0 things a day – and it all adds up. That’s 21 tasks completed in a week!
